it soaks up this life

every detail
every pain
every beauty
every rain
all the joy
all the frets
winning dogs
and losing bets

sunny days
stormy skies
all bring tears
to my eyes
tears of joy
tears of sorrow
dreams and hopes
for tomorrow

lonely people
when they smile
soak that up
for awhile
feel the music
feel the free
feel the dance
of simple glee

little arrows
little darts
flung with zest
at people's hearts
scenes of horror
acts of pure unselfish love
glorious treasures
sent from heaven above

It's never full
it absorbs it all...
